Can anyone recommend a mechaninc in central FL, preferably in the kissimmee/orlando area that is good with grand Wagoneers?

I already tried the local Jeep Dealership. Minutes before my jeep left me stranded again, they told me that they would have to special order my carburetor from Ford and it would be $895 to install it. Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley!?!? What is so special about a stock 2bl 2150 anyway?

Anyway, I am convinced the carb needs a rebuild but have no idea where to take it. Any thoughts from any of the Fla gang?

On the other hand, if it is not going to be too difficult, anyone know where I can get a rebuilt 2150, or a good bolt on alternative that I can attempt myself?

Thanks,
fish

Search the site there are several articles on rebuilding the 2150, If you are a pretty fair saturday mechanic you can do it yourself. I did mine it is really not that difficult. ;)

Thanks Wagdriver. I think I am an ok sat mechaninc, but I have never ventured into rebuilding a carb, or much else other than slight adjustments to it. I will checkout the articles, I was just curious if there is anyone around that specializes in this.

it can be hard to find someone to rebuild it for you ,there is know money in it.clean off the kitchen table lay out some newspaper, tear into it keeping things in order.clean it up put it back togather using the directions in the kit.follow the directions for innitial settings put back on and go hae some fun.
it realt is not that hard.if it aint to dirty you should be able to do it in an hour or two.longer if it needs to sit in cleaner.any problems you can always come here and ask away

talntar is right about how to do it. Don't scatter things about and be as organized as you can and, and above all don't do it with time restrictions. It really is not that hard ;)

For the carb, pop it off yourself and mail it to National Carburetor in Jacksonville. They do a great job, I think mine was $160. They even make your choke and mixture adjustable, and eliminate the altitude compensation circuit. Contact me by e-mail and I will dig up the info. Lifetime warranty too.

Unfortunately people who understand carburators are getting harder and harder to find. :(
