Me too-
I need to fill the gas tank, ad some "Stabil", then in the garage she goes under the car cover. My business is run in the upper level of my garage, and the benefit is that my whole garage is heated.
I try to start it every week or so and let it run for 15 or 20 minutes.
Once they start throwing salt on the roads, I don't drive it at all. I try to wait until we've gotten a few good, soaking rains after the last salting before I get it out in the spring. That's usually about mid April...:(
When I bought my GW in Arkansas, the original owner said "Oh, you're really going to like the 4WD up there in the winter!". I had to explain to him that it was NEVER going to see the snow and ice.

phooey, I live for 2' of snow on the road. That's when I go OUT. :D
(they don't use salt in CO, at least here they don't).
I hear ya though, our 88 GW limited was rotted BAD from the salt in CT.

Sometimes I don't think people in the non-rustbelt states realize how bad it can get.
Here's a photo of the '78 J-20 that I just bought for parts. This has been a northern Ohio truck since new. I tell you what, getting the windshield out is pretty easy when most of the lip has rotted away and the windshild pillar has completley rusted away from the roof!

Yup, wag is going into the garage on Thanksgiving weekend. I miss driving a wag in winter, but it'll be around longer this way.
My winter DD is a 2WD S10 with a 5 speed, now that is fun:drivin:

The Gladiator is going away for the winter. I'm going to try and save the body. Then the Honcho is coming out for my winter dd. If I get it road worthy pretty quick that is.

I just updated the tag on the Waggie and fixed a tire. She's ready to roll. We use salt, but the temp bounces up and down enough that it can be washed off the next week.

I agree with Mark. I enjoy a little snow racing in the waggy!!
What is this "snow" y'all are talking about? ;)

Does the board slow down with all the FSJs parked away for the winter?

not really. People just get weirder. We'll prolly have a faked death or two this winter.
That's why I built a garage.

Mine's staying on the road as i bought it for winter driving when we moved up here. They use salt on roads for snow? Here in Greeley they use something called "de-icer" within the city limits. Outside of town I think they just use sand.

I dont know how it is in the rest of the country, but in New England / NH we use a salt/sand mix on the roads, heavy on the salt. The last couple of winters they were trying some new thing where they put the de-icer down before the storm comes--and it worked really well. But it was only in isolated areas for testing and Im pretty sure they decided against putting that into the budget in NH.
They pretty much salt every night as all it takes is a little bit of wind and there is black ice everywhere (im guessing from the humidity?). Plus we get a ton of freezing rain. When it just snows it actually isnt bad, but more often than not it rains before and/or after most snow storms.

They have been starting to use the pretreatment here in Kentucky. I believe it just a solution of salt water because the road turns white after they are done.
I drive my Jeeps sparingly in the winter because they are not yet rust buckets. I do take them out from time to time if the roads are clear, dry and it keeps everything lubricated.
My wife isn't real happy about it. "why do you have a 4wd truck and won't use it in the winter" My reply is that we can pretty much do what we need to do in the Honda and I don't care as much if it gets wrecked and rusted.
