I got my '88 Waggy runing and did a full tune up this weekend. I bought it non-running, fixed the distributer (it was off 2 teeth), new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, new fuel lines, and all new radiator lines/heater hoses.
I hope to get the exhaust put on this week. Right now it dumps at the manifolds. It sounds great, but it's way too loud. Oh, anyone know what size the exhaust studs are? I have the Y-pipe and the cat which can be put on, but it has no studs to attach the Y-pipe to the manifolds.
I'm happy to report I have 2 functional power seats, but only one functional power window :(
Once I get the exhaust I plan to drive it for a few miles to get the old gas burned up and then eventually getting it ready for DD duty. I'll probably do new belts and that should be about it. Any other suggestions for reliability enhancements?
I'll get pics once it leaves the garage. Not enough room ot get them while it's inside!
