Has anyone here redone a battery tray in a GW ? I recently replaced the battery in my 89, and the tray and surrounding area look just about ready to blow away in the wind! Does anyone make replacements, or will I have to attempt fabrication of my own ?

Try these guys. I use their battery box in my boat.

I don't know if a '76 is the same but I took out my rotting tray and replaced it with a plastic tray from the lps. I bolted it down and used new hold downs as well. So far I have not had any problems.

If it's not too far gone, clean it up and POR-15 it (or Zero Rust, etc). You could probably find a replacement used one pretty easy if you wanted to keep it stock.

I knocked the rust off mine, then used long self tapping screws to firmly mount a plastic replacement tray over the original. Sort of cheating, but secure.

Daniel
I also have a decent tray out of my parts cherokee I would prolly sell, but I would bolt/screw in a plastic one.
