If anybody has some, please post them up. And, if you can find one in jet black with Honcho decals, so much the better. Yes, I am planning Tequilla's future.;)

Just do it Sis! Black would be sweet with the Honcho decals. Isn't Kenny's Honcho black??

Hammer-
The top one you posted is mine and actually forest green metallic; overcast conditions that day made it look black. Besides, Janie has seen mine up close.

Rats, figures you would post up ;)
No one else would have known!
I just grabbed both those photos from my site to show Janie.

Have to admit though, it looks BLACK in that picture! Your other picture I have shows the green though.

Hey grand_wag_85, I actually have that brochure. It's a 1981 J-truck brochure. The truck in the pic is actually Sherwood green metallic. Looks like my honchos twin, which is pretty much why I had to get it. Incedentally, my honcho also sorta looks black from far away.

Personally, I dont think you can go wrong with black. J-trucks look great as do the honcho decals on top of black j-trucks!

Is it just me or did they switch Honcho decals every time they swapped grilles?

But why?! I love Tequilla! By far my favorite J-Truck on the site! No need to paint, I like the goldish color on a Honcho.

Janie, we think alike, that's exactly what I was gonna do...I still have several gallons of Jet Black paint here...gonna have to use it soon on the 77 though..
Good luck, that's the way to go, I've always liked Kennys truck..

THATS AWESOME!

i still want another 74-77 j10 to turn into a daily driver/street truck. i think it would be sweet to have one with the 360 and TH400 but with a 2wd output shaft and housing. heck, i'd use it as my tow rig now that i think about it.

Jon, I appreciate that. I truly do. But, the Honcho's bed is toast as in so much rust a Rottweiller would fall thru the holes. I've got another bed here that's going on. While Tequilla's paint is still very good, it is 28 yrs old.

I honestly don't think we'll be able to get the bed/cab to match colorwise. Likewise, the original Honcho decals are extremely faded. Still not sure how I'll replace those as the only replacements I've found are for the 76 - 78 models.

Ya'all absolutely rock. Thanks so much for the feedback/pic's and advice.

Janie, just an idea, use a bright colored pinstripe...if your bold get a pinstripe tool and paint...but basically do the outline of the honcho decals...and get someone to make the honcho decal itself...
That's what I'm hoping to do on my 77.
