Well another summer had come and gone and with the MAFSJ fall fling two days away I'm throwing the towel. Took the 91 off the road for while to do some upgrades. New Edelbrock intake, fix electrical gremlins, convert to electric fan, wheelbearings, oil leaks. Well I polished out the intake and looks awesome, hood just clears with the Qjet. I made a fan shroud out of old utility shelving and it came out awesome. I used a fan from a 92camaro because it was free from a freind. Got it all togther and it dont fit! So out comes the cutoff wheel and welder. Moved the rad back about an inch and half and the AC condensor. That took forever and I ended up with about 3/8" between the fan and water pump pulley. Then I go toshut the hood and the hood now hits the rad because it's far forward:banghead: I wired in a fan relay and that don't work. fan is on all the time. Troubleshooting says either the thermocouple or control board. So I gotta return it and do it over. Then dummy me I reveresed the manifold vac and the Cto on the front of the manifold so I pulled antifreeze into the motor. Then I noticed one of the fuel lines from my electric pump is leaking and the dam oil leak is still there. After all that was straight, the final FU from the Jeep to me is as I'm getting ready to drive it away, the ignition decides to work intermittently. I check out the MSD box and all looks good so now I have new gremlin. Why can't this thing just work:banghead:
That is all Happy Halloween

I have found that some modifications are more trouble than they are worth. You are also dealing with an old vehicle - there are always going to be gremlins. Case in point - I was going to take my GW on a summer outing. We stopped to get some ice for the cooler, I rolled the rear window down so I access the cooler and the darn thing wouldn't go back up. The wire became disconnected in the tailgate. It's these small things that drive you crazy. If you keep one of these vehicles you have to budget parts $$ and time into your life.
