Found this info:
The J-Series Pickups was produced from 1963 until 1987.
J-Series pickups have used various model designation schemes over the years. All of the models are what we would consider a full size pickup today. Early models were know as Gladiator pickups.
From 1963 until 1964 a 3 digit number was used to designate wheelbase and GVW of the vehicle.
Models were available with a 120" and a 126" wheelbase and most models were available in Thriftside (narrow box), Townside (wide box) and cab & chassis models.

In 1965 they switched over to a four digit model number except for the J-100. In '67 the two wheel drive models were dropped. In 1970, the Gladiators got the same style grill as the Wagoneer, it's first styling change since its introduction. The 3000 series was dropped in 1971. The "Gladiator" name was dropped in 1972 and the J trucks were simply called Jeep trucks.

thanks everyone - thats the info I needed.
The reason I was asking is so I can find out how long of a trailer I can pull without getting into too much trouble. The long overhang of the GW will probably push me into purchasing an expensive anti-sway hitch (Hensley Arrow) so I can safely pull a travel trailer. The long overhang essentially allows the trailer to have a great deal of leverage on the GW and could cause a sway condition. The Hensley Arrow hitch gives you a virtual pivot point near the rear differential so essentially the trailer will tow like a 5th wheel.
Thanks All!

You won't be wasting your money! I pulled a Grand on a car hauler with my 90 Grand and it was a horrible expirence! Lots of sway no matter how I loaded it. Get load leaveling bars too if it's a heavy trailer along with trailer brakes.
