hey all, got a line on a Caddy motor. The guy hasnt told me what year it is, but it had about 78,000 miles, runs, but could use a rebuild, which i would do anyways...

but what i was wondering was what i would need to do to get that motor in my 76 J10 with a T-18. im thinking about trying to find an auto tranny. any suggestions and/or comments on this would be greatly appreciated.especially since i have littl to no knowledge of caddy engines.

can i do this? what tranny should i try and find if i want an auto?

laters, ryan

you could hook it up to your trans all you need is a bellhousing from a pont/buick/olds and last time we did the caddy to a std trans the flywheel was a little spendy ($500.00) as for a auto trans th 400 do you have the dana/spicer 20 transfer case ???? pork chop knows where to get the gear for the swap i have a set of motor mounts for the cad swap

hey thanks! so uhh... how much you want for those motor mounts? Do u think the TH400 is the best tranny for the job? ive done a little looking into combos and that seems like the best one as well as the easiest. any other tips? id love to hear them. what about performance upgrades? got any ideas? well thanks again. laters ryan
