I have gone Non EGR on the two I have installed. I would check your local emissions laws. If you have a non-egr now I say, stay with the non-egr. What carb are you lookng at going to?

Well I dont have emissions in my area so I dont have to worry about that. All of my emission and smog control Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley is still hooked up in my waggon. I think ill be going with a Edel Brock 600, for now since my dad has one in the garage.

Get the non-egr intake and save the bucks. Good luck. When you get that carb on get it tuned properly. It will make all the difference in the world.

Will there be anything that Id have to plug up if I get the NON-EGR?

No, no need to plug up anything. If you get an EGR compatible carb, there will be a port to plug on the carb itself, but no big deal there. As for the emissions stuff, you can remove the air pump, and the associated air rails. But, as merc says, get it tuned properly.

Anybody use a 4-barrel adapter for an edelbrock carb on a stock 2-barrel intake?

I want to do the entire edelbrock cam/manifold/carb upgrade, but really need a carb now.

Would it run worse than stock while I'm waiting to buy and install additional parts?

Thanks....

A few folks have done it, but their results weren't all that great. Save up the extra $200 and get a new edelbrock 4bbl intake, or spend about $100 and buy a used one. Well worth the money, and eventually you'd make the switch anyway for performance reasons.

Well I went out and got a EdelBrock 4bbl intake last night, be picking it up on monday. Now im looking at what Carb I should get? The waggon is mainly for offroad use. My Dad said I should get the EdelBrock 600 Carb, whould that be a good one for offroad'n?

The Holley Truck Avenger seems like the best for off-roading. No personal experience - just read the list alot. I have heard of problems with the Edelbrock carb, but there are mods to permit off-roading.

The Edelbrock 1406 is a great carb, and pay the extra $10 for the off-road needle & seat kit. You can install it yourself in about 10 minutes. Anything over a 600 cfm carb is too big for these engines (the model 1406 is a 600cfm carb).

As for problems with mods to the edelbrock, there aren't any problems. They were made as a street carb, which happen to work well on our rigs. To accommodate them to off-roaders, Edelbrock came out with the new Off-Road needle & seat kit. The edelbrock carbs are actually easier to tune than the holly's.

I don't know, I sure like my edelbrock dual-port 360 intake topped with a Holley 600. It has made a HUGE difference, I have never driven a vehicle that responds so quickly to the peddle. Lots of low end.
