I bought a set of axle spring pads from RE, the ones with the 3 holes for wheelbase adjustment. I am looking for input from anyone with knowledge on these. I would like to mount my springs with the pins on the front most holes on the rear axle and the rear most holes on the front axle, thereby creating 2 inches of increased wheelbase. I am concerned mainly with effects on axlewrap, wheel hop and/or lost traction. This is going to be used as a spring over design both front and rear. Thanks

Using the other holes wont effect axle wrap or the like any. The spring over itself is what will cause that (the front axle will have more leverage on the springs, and the rear with the shackle facing down causes more axle wrap as well).

The issue up front is the pitan arm will hit the tie-rod if you move it forward much. Unless you go with cross over steering instead of full high steer.

why push the axles outward? why not inward for a better turning radius? i know its only 2" but every little bit helps.

Better approach.. Better departure.. But mostly, better drive shaft angle (a bid deal on the front)..

Also the front tires hit the firewall when they compress if you are running much over a 36" tire.

i kind of figured out about the approach and departure angle this morning when looking at my jeep. i did not even think or know about the driveshaft and tires hitting the firewall.

.....if you are going with a spring over and want to move your axle forward. Instead of going with special perches to move it forward, maybe try chevy springs and use the center hole on the perches. The chevy springs will move it forward about an inch. If you go with a chevy 2 inch lift spring it should keep it about the same height as a stock spring.

I will be running 39s to start, might go to 44s later on. I figured lifting the Jeep will shorten the WB being the fixed points on the suspension are toward the center of the Jeep (shackles on corners) So moving the pins to the outer holes will compensate for this.... ???

True on linked suspensions... Not on leafs..

I assume that you are going SOA since you want to run such large tires. If so, since you will be using the exact same springs, nothing will change except height...
