Ok...the tailgate latch in my 90 GW is shot. The arms going between the actual latch mechanisms on each side of the tailgate rusted away, therefore leaving me with an open tailgate and a shattered rear window(another story). Well, this actually happened last year, but I am just now getting it back on the road, and need to know how you get the assembly out of there. I have tried everything, and it just won't come out. It seems like there is a pocket in there just big enough for the handle and mechanism, and no more space to manuver it out. So...what I need to know is how do you get the handle assembly out from isnide there. ???
