Ooo....I'd love a set of those for the Cherokee. So much better than the stupid tailgates.

You like messing with the tailgate wiring that has more gremlins than 80s horror movies? :p

In my town and all. Wow, I'd like to get those and stick 'em on one of the 3 jeeps I have to play with, well really they would only work on 2 of the 3. Wonder what the reserve is?

These always remind me of an old Ford delivery my dad had when I was a kid, as it had similar barn doors. He had converted it to 4x4 and built a cool Y block for it. Unfortunately it ended up being sold around the same time as the family Wagoneer.

I actually like the electric tailgate. With my '78 Cherokee, I got really proficient at dropping the glass from the inside by removing the clips from the rails

I wish some vendor, like Zach or BJ's, would get those to use a pattern for reproduction.

Or that the very least, use thse doors to gather information to create a kit (plans, parts, tips and tricks)
that a person could use an existing tailgate as a starting point (cutting it in half) to create homemade barn doors.

other than selling the one or two pairs a year to 100% restoration guru's, there probably isn't that large of a market for these. The cost for tooling, prototypes, production runs, shipping & storage is much higher than most people know. Also, regardless of how much a handful of folks love a part (myself included), by the time it's done you are talking upwards of 6 figures for an item like a barn door reproduction, and I can tell you that there wouldn't be enough sales to cover just our costs, let alone any razor-thin profit margin. Sorry, but the best option is for a true enthusiast to buy those and plop them on his rig.

do those windows go up and down? if not it looks like you could cut a tailgate in half, box it, create some hinges, a lock, and some steel at the top to hold the windows in. a lot of work, but i've seen crazier fab work on this board before.

From what I understand, the glass is fixed.
Yes, a person could cut a tailgate in half and fab the rest up, but if the fabricator had a good example to use as a pattern,
IMHO, the fab work would go quicker, simpler and have less problems to solve.

Maybe a trip over the mountains is in order.....

...to buy it and save it for a wagoneer product....

Hmmm...

Wow, that's groovy. I like the barn doors.

Good on the guy who cut them out and offered them for sale, rather than letting them go to the smelter.

Yes' I am just like you guys. After I saw those door I went out side and stood there and looked at my new[new to me] Jeep tail gate and said the same thing. Cut it in the middle add the glass and frame and its done. Then I woke up, not my new baby.:D But I sure do like thse doors
