I was driving to work yesterday, stopped at a light and the engine just stopped, and couldnt get it to start again. The battery seemed to be at fault, but took it and had it hooked up to a battery charger/starter, and it would turn over no problem, but it would never start. it appears that Im getting no spark, I have 12v (key) from the pos side of the coil, and neg is good too. Im all out of ideas...can anyone offer any advice. 89 grand wagoneer, 360cid, brand new coil, new battery, new cap and rotor. thanks all

just for grins, give the carb a shot of starting fluid. if the engine fires for just a second , then your problem is fuel related.( out of gas).

This just happened to me. I had voltage at the + on the coil with Key ON and in the Start Position. I had nothing on the Dist. side of the coil. I replaced the Coil and good to go. You started in the right place just keep going. Make sure you have voltage on the + side of the coil while you are cranking the engine also.

Good Luck

The ignition modules are notorious for crapping out without warning. Mine did it too, no warning at all, it just started stalling. I've since replaced it with a MSD.
