Front Axle vent

Ok guys,
You came through on the last question. Now how do I put the vent back in the top of the front axle. Is it threaded or press fit and where can I get a new one? Will chevy have one? I have a dana 44.
I got the front rebuilt and back togather and in the process I found a hole in the top (HUM)a vent?Now I had to find the plug, it is beat up and chewed up by something so I don't have much to go on. But I know I can't go jeepin with out it.(DUH).

I have 3/8 hose (guessing) pushed on and held with hose clamp on the axle, running up to the fender (carefully clearing the headers) topped off with the OEM check valve. Want to keep it up where it won't allow any water in.
