View Full Version : T176 behind a 360?
May have a deal on a 360 with the 727 and q-track xfr case all as one unit from a 76 Chero. I want to put it in my 83 chero but what xfr case should I get or whould my T176 and 208xfr case be fine with the 360?
Still have the 2.73 gears and running 32x11.50s
humm or maybe put in my wife's YJ? I already bought a 92 4 banger for it though?:(

T 176 is a medium duty trans. It will do O.K. behind a stock 360.
Is your T176 from a 258 rig? If so, and you are swapping the 360 in place of a 258, then you have alot of other issues to work through.

Also the Quadratrac for '76 (BW1339) only came with a TH400... passenger side drop. So it's either not from a '76 and not the BW1339, or else it's a TH400.
Difference in length between the 6 and V8 causes a lot of changes. Check the old posts - there's a lot there about that swap.

I got a 360/t176/208 from the factory in my 80 j10. 154,000 miles on original tranny and tcase.
