What price, or range, can I reasonable expect to pay for a rebuildable 401 core?

Between $100-$900 depending on condition. Most cores go for $450 around here and some nice cores go for $900 (If they are running with a R4B and a nice carb)

I won't mention what I get them here for you'll all get sick. But do to the price I have 7 sitting in my shed and no they are not for sale.

I *may* be interested in selling my motor. '78 AMC 401, bored 060 over (running cool) with 10k miles on rebuild. PM if interested....

Thanks for the input....the 401 I'm referring to is "local" but yet to be pulled from the Javelin....so I'm not sure what condition it is in yet. Just needed some "range" of value.

What year is the Javelin it's in? Is it worth restoring? I'd be interested in the Javelin.

The Javelin in question is not rebuildable due to being picked over and wrecked.

I just made a deal on a rebuildable 401 for $250, but it comes with a NIB cam and lifter set. It is however missing the timing cover.
