Man, I actually had about a week of trouble free ownership!
Now, wife say's headlight switch VERY hot and burning smell in the cab. I suspect a short, or the switch it's self. Anyone been there before?
Thanks,
Al Johnson

Same thing happened to me on an FSJ and a couple other vehicles. The switch contacts inside the headlight switch get corroded, and then the added resistance makes the switch heat up. There's a lot of current through all those headlights. Time for a replacement switch in all likelyhood, although it's possible that it could be a connector or some bad wires. But I'd start with the switch.
Good luck!

Al,
Thanks for the quick reply. Kind of what i suspected. But with these things (GW)it nice to confirm with someone thats fixed it before.
Btw,
Noticed from your sig about the 360/wrangler swap. When its done you will love it! I swaped one into my 1985 CJ-7. Its built to crawl and loves the 360.

while you're into the repair, you can cut your headlight wire on the engine side and install a relay inline. it will drop the amps going thru the switch to nearly nothing and you will be amazed at how much brighter your lights will be.
