When I first turn the key in the ignition to start, all power comes on but nothing happens as far as starting the motor. However, the second time I turn the key, it starts right up. This happens all day long. First time turnover I get nothing. Second time turnover, she starts.

Ideas?

Mine does something similar, but it's not that predictable. Sometimes, it just doesn't want to engage, and may or may not eventually turn over if I keep cycling the key. I think my issue is the solenoid cuz I can always get the starter to turn over if I cross the connections with some pliers. It's a cheap thing to replace, but I hate throwing parts at a problem.
You could have something like a key switch problem, too, but I would check you sol'd.

Might want to check the ignition switch under the dash on the steering column (not the key tumbler). The switch is adjustable and it might be that it's going bad or not engaging fully on the first turn of the tumbler.

if you got a tilt wheel tilt it all the way down and try it
