I've been thinking about cutting off my rusty flares on my J-10 and I was wondering if narrow track front fenders added any tire clearance over the wide track? If I could get more clearance with a fender swap I would be willing to go through the expense of having the rear ones done by a friend of mine to match so that it wouldn't look so hacked. Any input would be welcomed except for the 20 reply's to not cut it...;)

i believe a wide track will give more clearance. which would be why you can put bigger tires on a WT chero than a NT chero

Yeah, I've heard that too. I thought that was probably because of the rear wheel wells though... Not sure!

yeah w/t allows way more clearance. thats why w/t cherokees and j trucks can handle 33s stock, wheras n/t's can only handle 30s. but that being said a j truck with wagoneer fenders would look silly. now you could fab up some m715 style fender flares.

NT fenders are WAY smaller. For instance, you can barely squeaze 31's on an unlifted wag, and they will rub offroad. On a WT you can fit 33's and they will only rub with lots of articulation.

Yes cut them off next to the body, and send them to me. I need some pieces of the fender flares to patch mine:thumbsup:
