A/C Anyone?

Well i finally put my new edelbrock intake on this weekend along with the matching valve covers and through this process i was really cursing that big a/c pump. I dont use the a/c and it is just in the way taking up space and the local shop wants 350 to swap freon and recharge. So i was wondering if anybody has taken them off before and what kinda project it is.

well depending on your needs some people turn them into On Board Air systems, 350$ kinda high what exactly does 350$ include

Had to pull mine off to swap the water pump. Couple of bolts on top and one or two on the bottem. If you are not too worried about asthetics, then just pul lthe lines off of the pump and cap them off. coil them up next to the firewall just in case you change your mind. be sure to cap both lines to keep mosture out of the system. I would leave everything in place, coil the lines by the firewall (global warming and all) and convert to oba.
