Out of curiosity, what is the difference between a "knock" and a "tap". Also, feel free to comment on any other wierd noises that come from fsjs. :rolleyes:

Knock is lower end noise; deeper tone than a tap which comes from top end or exhaust leak. Think of the sound a knock makes as smacking 2 large wooden dowels together; a tap sounds like metal to metal.

Other weird noises? Pops from u-joints, springs, front end components, or a QT chain. Grinding noises from bad wheel bearings or very bad brake linings. Various squeeks from spring bushings, or in the case of my truck, tailgate latches. Wind noises from bad door weatherstripping. Shall I go on?
