what is the length of a semi floating 14 bolt. I see a lot of people running hd44 in front and a 60 in rear, is there any difference in axle shafts between a hd44 and a w/t d44. Also is a w/t d44 67" from WMS to WMS.

I plan on running my stock w/t 44 with a SF 14 bolt because I already have 6 lug rims with tires on them. will the 14bolt hold up with 37x13.5 locked with 4.56 gears?

The axle shafts are the same for a D44 and an D44HD (1.31" 30 sline inners, 19 spline outers).

A WT front axles is not 67", nore is the rear. A J-Truck rear axle is 67.

The Problem with the 14C is there is a very limited choice of lockers, and while it has larger shafts and R&P than a D44, its still a semi float axle held in by c-clips. So it will hold up better than a D44, but not near as good as a full floating axle.

The Sf 14 bolts in 4x4's are 68-69" wms and in 2wd 62-63' wms. The van axles may be wider than the 2wd truck axles and the 5 lug SF's out of the SS trucks may be different.(I never came across one to check) It has 1.37" diameter 33 spline axle shafts. I think it'll hold up to the 37's but I'm not sure the 44 would, specially if you are heavy on the skinny pedal.

I run the same combo in my GW, chevy 44/SF14 but I'm only running 35's.
