I wished I could have gone to the last one too, but I didn't have any time plus my truck wasn't ready to drive that far. How about one near the Harrisonburg/Staunton area sometime?

If it's Oct/Nov, the GW might be able to make it. Changed the fuel filter(with helpfull info from tgreese) Sat. Still rough idle & have to let it warm up a while, but it got out of the driveway under it's own power!!!

I know that I really cannot work on putting together another one until after Oct. We have our daughters Wedding, 30th HS Reunion-Kinston NC and a Casino Fund Raiser one weekend after another. I am afraid that we had a poor turnout last go around, but I am sure it would be better in the fall. We can do it again. I know that Granshire lives up in Ashland VA (just north of Richmond) this would be a great area to bring in others from Maryland if they drove down US 301. It is about 2 hours from Staunton, 2 hours from N VA and 2 hours from VA Beach and about 2 hours from many parts of NC along the VA-NC border. Just an idea. Some of the guys around here maybe part of the local off road club, maybe they could work something in for FSJ.

In that case, I may well have the new kick panels installed, insulation under the hood, and the new oil pressure sending unit hooked up.

If you want a GW, check the For Sale section. Challomo is located at Libbie & Grove and wants $1900 for his '89. Seems to be a good deal if he hasn't already sold it. Needs paint & some minor fixups. 142 K as I recall.
As to getting together, I'm thinking April would be good.

April sounds good anybody got a suggestion for a date or a place to meet?

I thought I would revive this. Looks like its been two years since our last meet-up.

Spring is around the corner and we are already having a awesome weekend!

I'm up for another one even if its a parking lot one.

Last get together was at my place and I combined all the groups/forums I belong to (FSJ, Scrambler, Commando and M715) to get the numbers up. Those of you that have attended our earlier attempts at FSJ get togethers know that they have always had low turnout. We had quite a collection of Jeeps that day and it was a lot of fun but the FSJ turnout was again quite low.

The Virginia Scrambler group is getting together on March 20th in Ashland but I would be up for another group get together at my place if there is enough interest. I will look at my calender when I get back in town and see what my April and May look like.

Where and when are you all getting together in Ashland? I work for Hanover Sheriff now, so i'd love to come by.

Mexican place in the shopping center at Rt 54/RT 1 in Ashland. I think we are shooting for 1:00 PM as a late lunch so they won't complain if we hang around awhile. I will let you know if that changes. I will drive my Scrambler and, if my son goes, he will bring my Commando, referred to on the CJ8 forum as my "Scrambler Substitute". Just don't bring a tape measure, its a little tall with the 38.5's.

There's a big fsj meet in central North Carolina (Uhwarrie National Forest) the 2nd weekend in June. Check out ECI (East Coast Invasion) under "events."

We'd love to have all you fsj'ers from Va. and everywhere.

No problem Jared, I think you met some of the guys at my place last year anyway. There will probably be 15-20 there and close to that many Jeeps.

Hey Joe, the get together on the 20th is primarily the Virginia Scrambler crowd but if we put something together at my place again I will let you know and you drive one of the Jeeps down this time. We'll make a weekend of and catch up with Ted, John and some of the other local guys.

Rich: I would like to drive the J-20 down towing the trailer with the CJ 7 on it. The J-20 is 90% done and I need a few details ( like bumper ends) to finish it. April might be tight.

I might be able to make a meet too. I'm about an hour and a half North of Richmond. I could put my CJ-5 on the trailer and tow it down with the '77 Chief:D

I'd been wondering about a VA meet somewhere this year, but it looks like I won't be able to make this one.:(

OK guys, several have asked about this so here are the final arrangements for Saturday's get together.

Location: El Azteca, 103 North Washington Highway, Ashland, VA

Time: 1:00 PM

This is not an official FSJ gathering, most of the guys coming have Scramblers (CJ8's) but there will be other Jeeps there as well. It is a great opportunity to meet some of the Virginia Jeep guys and many of us have multiple Jeeps and models. If it does not rain I will bring both my 81 Scrambler and 69 Commando. The Commando does not have a top on it right now so it is a fair weather rig and either my daughter or son will drive it. It is supposed to be sunny for a change and there will be a variety of other Jeeps there as well.

I thought segregation was over in the United States and especially in the Jeep world ;) ...
