Hey everyone. I have an '88 G. Wagoneer with a 4" lift and 35's. I am getting a stronger than usual vibration when I am in third gear and I accelerate. I feel it mostly through the steering wheel. This is something new that it didn't do before. I am guessing that it might have something to with the driveshaft? Thanks for any input.

When is the last time you greased the front driveshaft? Did you just put on the lift and then it started? Also What conditions are the tires in and are the balanced?

After I installed a 4" lift I got some vibration from my front drive shaft but only when I'm in 4 wheel drive. In two wheel, which is most of the time, the vibration goes away. Since I'm not in 4WD very often, I don't worry about it.

Thanks for the replys. The vibration happens in two wheel drive (i kinda forgot to mention that). The tires are basically brand new and they are balanced. The lift has been on the rig for a while, so it isn't a product of that. The onyl thing I had done to it recently was reduce the tire pressure to get rid of so much bouncing around.
Thanks again for anymore input.

Posting this again for perhaps more feedback? The truck tends to do the vibrations between 35 and 55 mph with no four sheel drive. The vibration is mainly felt through the steering wheel. The 4" lift has been on the truck for a while and all the 35s are balanced and were on the truck before the vibration began. Thanks!

I have the same thing going on with mine but it is just when i rev it up to about 2700 rpm setting. i have replace pump fan clutch and fan also the balancer. So could it be the flywheel disc and release bearing. I have no way of knowing how old this is i just got it year1/2 ago.David

Possible tire tread seperation, thrown balance weight off wheel? Maybe rotate the tires and see if the steering wheel still shakes.
