View Full Version : Cooling Question - Fan Shrouds

I just bought a 1989 Grand Wagoneer a few weeks ago, and I love it. It has a 6 inch BJ's lift, 2 inch body lift, and a Herculiner'd interior. My question is about the fan shroud. I noticed a previous owner has removed the fan shroud from in front of the 360, presumably because of the body lift. The truck hasn't overheated yet, even in Houston rush hour traffic, but I'm wary.
Is replacing the fan shroud necessary? If so, how hard is it to mod the shroud to work with the lifted body? Does anyone have a shroud they'd like to sell?
Thanks in advance!

I would get the fan shroud on asap. i dont know about post 80's rigs but when i lifted the body on my 77, there were holes that were already drilled on the radiator mounts that moved the fan shroud down just about the exact same as the body lift. it couldnt have gone easier i pulled the little clips off moved them to the lower hole's and screwed the fan shroud back down.

Hey guys,
I was looking at fan shrouds on eBay and found two folks selling them on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RADIATOR-FAN-SHROUD-jeep-WAGONEER-84-90-cooling-89-88_W0QQitemZ330155366006QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33600QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

As far as I know, neither one of those was available in a FSJ. Also the two shrouds don't look identical. Would you guys mind taking a look at the pics and letting me know which one, if either, is the correct one to use with the 360?
Thanks!

Should be neither one will fit. It has to be off a fullsize wag with 360. The 258 ones won't work either as they are narrower than the 360 ones.

IIRC, you can get a NEW one from BJ's OffRoad. They're members and contributors here, too.
