I have seen several threads here requesting sizes on FSJ bushings, and I thought I would try to help, so here goes: ( I am going to group Wagoneers, Grand Wagoneers and Cherokees together under the heading "SJ" to keep the thread shorter, but I do know that there is a difference - just not in the spring bushings. Also, the sizes are at the bottom of this post.)

SJs

1963-73 SJ front springs use a RB-71 (RB-128) anchor bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

1963-73 SJ rear springs use a RB-87 anchor (post) bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

1974-75 SJ front springs use a RB-71 anchor bushing and a RB-85 (RB-140) shackle bushing.

1974-75 SJ rear springs use a RB-141 anchor (post) bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

1976-91 SJ front springs use a RB-71 (RB-145) anchor bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

TRUCKS with Rubber Bushings

1963-73 J-truck front springs with rubber bushings use a RB-86 anchor (post) bushing and a RB-79 shackle bushing.

1974-87 J-truck front springs with rubber bushings use a RB-71 (RB-145) anchor bushing and a RB-85 (RB-140) shackle bushing.

1963-69 J-truck rear springs with rubber bushings use a RB-87 anchor (post) bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

1970-75 J-truck rear springs with rubber bushings use a RB-141 (RB-123) anchor (post) bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

1976-87 J-truck rear springs with rubber bushings use a RB-153 anchor bushing and a RB-85 shackle bushing.

TRUCKS with Brass Bushings

1963-73 J-truck front springs with brass bushings use a LHC bushing on both ends.

1963-69 J-truck rear springs with brass bushings use either a LHE bushing for the 7/8" post mount or a NJE bushing for the 1" post mount and a LHE shackle bushing.

1970-73 J-truck rear springs with brass bushings use a NJE bushing on the anchor (post) end and a LHE bushing on the shackle end.

Bushing Sizes

RB-71 1-1/2" O.D. 9/16" I.D. 2-1/2" spring width
RB-79 1-3/4" O.D. 9/16" I.D. 2" spring width
RB-85 1-1/4" O.D. 9/16" I.D. 2-1/2" spring width

NJE 1-1/4" O.D. 1" I.D. 2-1/2" spring width

There are probably exceptions to this list (they are, after all, Jeeps), but I hope this helps someone.

Thanks,

Would you mind if I put this up in the FSJ Networks FAQ section? I think you may have posted it there once before, I need to look.

Hi, Stuka,

Use it wherever you can with my blessing. What I posted on FSJN was the spring sizes. Kaiserman archived it on this forum.

Thanks,
Tom
