September DIY project. I know very little, and from what reading I've done, most "kits" (JCW etc) are reasonable ($260) but most sell springs for the front and blocks for the back.
I don't want blocks in the back.
What are my options?
Are there full spring kits (frt&back)?
Add-A-Leaf for back only? Throw out purchased blocks?
Just want to spend the dough right---
thanks, Brent

Go 4". BJ's Offroad has their own kits. I think they have one for your J10. Check their site at BJ's Offroad (http://www.bjsoffroad.com) They are great guys. Call or email them and they will take care of you.

i know superlift makes a four inch lift in either all leafs or add a leafs plus blocks or just blocks in rear.

SuperLift is also known as super stiff. Great if you do mud running, not great if you do trails and stuff that require flex.

It'll be a lift, honestly, 60% fer looks and 40% for goin out in the desert terrain whenever I feel like it.
Thanks for the links gentlemen, I got more homework to do.

i would go with all springs. i went cheap and put blocks in the rear. now my j10 sits about 1.5 inches lower in the rear. for example, with 4 inch lift, new springs will raise the truck 4 inches over stock height. 4 inch blocks will raise the truck 4 inches over the old sagging height.
further, stuka is correct. superlift=superstiff. my front end is superstiff while my rear retained much of it's stock ride. i will be looking for rear springs in the near future. also, with superlift, i had some packaging problems with wrong parts. superlift did resolve those problems with parts shipped for next day.

Brent P/M Blt2krl I know he has 4" rear leaf packs for the rear of his waggy that should fit. not sure the price. and then just order the 4" front. I can check around and see if I can find my old 4" front spings if your interested.

You think if I went to 32X11's on my 15" rims(from 10.5X31) a 4" lift would look good?
My only desire for the modest 3" lift I envisoned
was so that I had a little room to play while keeping the 15's.
I'm in over my head as far as lift/tire aesthetics. Help. 33's would kill me in mileage I think.

Your 32's would look fine with a 4" lift but 33's would look a bit better. Besides, you can always get new tires when the old ones wear out.

As for MPG with 33's it depends. I get 11 City and 13.5 Highway with my 33's and 3.54 gears. So, you may want to look at your ratio before going to 33's. Anything taller than a 3.54 ratio would not work well on your drivetrain for 33's. By taller I mean a smaller number.

you know, heres a good question, cause rustys has a 2-3.5'' lift where as bj's has a 4'' lift, 31's as i understand are the best for stock drivetrain, so would that tire work better with which lift, and how differantare the 2 lifts? and lastly, if getting 33's, would they put much more stress on a drive train then 31's?

brent - im getting one for the same reasons you are smile.gif got the same questions...

brent - im getting one for the same reasons you are smile.gif got the same questions...With a Wag, you may not be able to put 33's on it with only a 3" lift without fender trimming. I may be corrected on that but I know a 2" is not enough for 33's for sure. As for drivetrain stress.....Just change the gearing and call it good. I understand that 31's are considered a bit small for off-roading but that's only from what I've read here. I've always off-roaded with at least a 32 on an FSJ. My wife's XJ has some metric size that's about a 29" tire and it does pretty good in light to moderate stuff but it also weighs about 2000 lbs less.
