Rain slick road , curve sharper than expected, followed by poor exicution. (Keep your head on your driving 100% at all times !!)
Other than bumps and bruses I made it OK, wag is pretty bent though :(
(Sorry to say it won't just buff out)
Looks like it will end up in an IAA auction sometime soon, anyone in MN have access? (fantasitc doors, tail gate, gas tank skid plate ... )
drive train, front axle, and main tub questionable, frame and front sheet metal gone

So are you going to stay in the Waggy game? Could take the buyback, part it out, and look for a fixerupper and use the good parts..
sorry to see it. Glad to hear no one got hurt.

Buy back is high, I will have to decide this weekend what exactly to do,
pretty sure I will keep an eye out for a replacment I am in no big hurry, but since there are few to none rust free ones around here, it will likely have to come from the west which makes buying more difficult. For the $'s I don't think having a stack of parts hanging around is a good option.
Have to see what pops up for 76-91 Wagoneer/Cherokee origional paint, no rust, no hit rigs.

Bargin with them.
When my waggy was rear ended they admitted it was in great shape but told me something like $850 was all they would give me for it.
Then they wanted $500 buy back. I asked them how they could only explain $350 from great to junk. I think I ended up paying $250 for it, got a salvage title and am still driving it today.
You might be suprised. They will have to spend at least $100 to get it towed somewhere and they won't get much for it.

Wow.. I guess I was lucky when my 88 was in the wreck they said it was in great shape, and gave me $4200 AND I keep the truck, or $4600 and they keep the truck. Duh I kept the truck. I fixed it for around $200, plus some additional tools I ended up needing, but who counts tools in a repair bill hehehe ;) I bought a parts rig, used the quarters, grill, rad support, front springs, and wheels I needed, sold the drivetrain and some other misc thus netting me the $200 in repair cost, if I had actually been persistant I probabaly could have broken even on the parts rig.
Make sure you haggle with them on the prices though. Especially considering rust free in your area, and other factors.

Oh man! I'm glad you're alright. If you can't afford to buy it back, PULL ALL THE PARTS OFF IT before it goes to the scrap yard. Cuz that's what will happen. It'll get crushed. The frame is bent and it would be too much for most people to fix. Also, the cab may be skewed a bit, although the windshield is still intact. Was it hard to open the driver side door?
If I may ask, what's the buy back price?
Like other's have said, NEGOTIATE. Show them ALL your receipts for recent work you have had done on it. NEVER accept the first offer. Show them WAGONMASTER's website! Really. Your truck looks (looked :( ) real nice.
BTW, the hood doesn't look too badly mangled, or is it just the camera angle? At least pull the hood ornament! Those are $65 or so new.
Oh, and NEVER accept the first offer. Did I say that already? <g>

Sorry, If the insurance Co. buys it they own it with all the parts. I can't both strip it and take the buy out. (as a matter of fact they want the interior panels which were pulled to clean the inner dead spaces put back in (??) whatever  )

Wow man sorry to see this. I know how it feels to have a real sweet Jeep one second then having a pile 'o parts in the blink of an eye. Glad to hear that ya didn't end up in worse shape.
After I hit the bear I tried to fix it but soon realized it wasn't gonna happen so I did what I could which made it hideous but driveable. I've put about 3-4K miles on it since my accident and probably killed it for good this weekend, but that's a different story. If you decide to resurect her and there's anything you could use off my '79 lemme know.
