Ok i have installed many stereos but have always used and amp.
When not using an amp do you hook the power wire to constant and your remote to switched?

power to switched, clock/memory to constant 12V, remote not used.

ok will it be a huge problem running direct from the battery for the constant power? Is there anything that uses constant power under the dash?

i think i tapped into something on the fuse block. maybe a clock fuse?
if you do run from the battery make sure you put a fuse inline.

supercopjason, use the ACC terminal in the fuse block for switched and the clock terminal/fuse for constant.
Edited: I misunderstood your 2nd post.
