This is probably a stupid question but I'll be hooking up my msd 6a tomorrow and according to the directions two wires connect to the terminals on the coil. The picture in the direction shows them attaching right to the terminals, but it seems to me that I should unplug the wires from the coil connecter clip and plug them in their. Make sense right? If this is true do the original wires just pull out of the clip? As I said dumb question but I'd just like to make sure Thanks!
Istructions are on pg. 18 below http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/6series.pdf for magnetic pickup

I put the wires directly onto the coil.

I added a 2-prong weatherpack connector to the coil-connector and to the ends of the MSD wiring. Then later, when I went with the TFI coil, I bought a connector and put a weatherpack connector on that, so it was plug-n-play.

I also put a connector on my old wires to the coil, so that I could return to the stock spark-box if the MSD ever failed, simply by switching a couple plugs.

I don't know if you can buy packs of the kind of terminals used in the Ford coil horseshoe, then crimp it on the wire, release the old connector and slide in the new connector.

Well I found out today you cant get the terminals used in the ford coil. I got everything hooked up and ran the wires directly to the coil just to see if it would work and nothing! The directions for the duraspark say to run the red wire to the coil connector cap as well but I may try to just run it to a switched 12v source like it says for other systems. I'm getting a new coil cap tomorrow so I'll have to try again. I that sucks that something that seems so easy is turning out to be a major PITA.
