Sounds good. I would put the HEI in first and get it running. Then do the carb and intake.

Poley, around 200-250 on ebay and I just spent 165.00 with Ted Wendel here on the boards.

You are bitting off quite a bit at once. Is your manifold and carb new? Teh instructions that come with the manifold are good as are the instuctions withteh carb. If you don;t have them let me know and I think I have a set I can forward you.

I just finished mine and am happy with the results. It went fairly smooth, although my idle still sucks (need to investigate) and I like installing intakes one-handed. I would do the carb/intake and distributor conversion separately because if done all at once and there's a problem, you won't know if it's the dizzy or intake making the difference.

Do a search on intake manifolds. This question has been asked, and answered (in-depth) many times (even within the last few weeks).

go to the write up on stuka's site, i followed his directions when i swapped my intake an carb, the two problems i ran into were 1) prebend the valley pan as best you can, the better it fits the easier it will be to install the manifold 2)if your using the electric choke model, take a 12 volt source off the old heater thingy that hooked up to the front of the carb, using the old electric choke wire leads wires catching on fire, yeah, im dumb. Go ahead an replace your vacumn lines too, the better you label things, the easier it will be to put it back together. You might also want to chase the threads in the block to allow for the manifold bolts to go in as easily as possible, its no fun to have it have way on with the silicon setting and have a bolt bind up. I did not use the rubber end seals, most peopel here just have used a heavy bead of black silicon, you just have to be careful that you have a large bead and that it doesnt get anywhere it shouldnt, hope that helps

My question concerning this installation is how or does the air conditioning compressor pump supporting brackets attach to the edelbrock intake manifold.(Not the main compressor mounting platform bracket).
Are there any pre-threaded locations on this intake for the A/C supporting brackets to attach too?
Has anybody done this installation including/with the A/C compressor?

Any information would be appreciated.

I have the AC compressor on mine and the Edelborck - there is no concern

The AC platform bolts into holes in the block itself not into the intake - then, as you mentioned, the top plate that goes on on top of the compressor bolts into one of the pre-drilled and tapped holes on the intake.

Thanks for the information. I was curious about this because I may be having to do just this installation in the near future.

I personally would just do the HEI this weekend and then drive it for few days. Not only to keep things simple but just so you can compare the difference the HEI will make.

Then later when you install the inatake and Edelbrock you can say "WOW."

My HEI took a little longer than anticipated cause the gear did not fit quite right. I had to grind it down a bit. Always plan on things taking a little longer.

Is your Jeep a daily driver?
