few reasons I run one, Easier/faster to shift, If I blow up my rear end I can run front wheel drive, you can run the front low gear and the rear foward if you want or any other combo

exactly why I fabbed up my twin stick shifters, I have broken so many rear driveline parts, d-shafts and rear diff parts that now I can just slide my rear FF axleshafts out and disengage the rear output in just minutes, and drive home in fwd. Also another nice thing is if you get into a traction issue on the trail on a sidehill, snow or loose terrain and need to shift into fwd only you can......helps with the sideways slide, also to help steer better in the tight spots. 2WD lowrange is nice too sometimes. I'd never go back to a stock shifting combo:thumbsup:

this is for the dana 300. not so sure if the dana 20 is the same way though.

Did you have to do any mods inside the case or just slap on two levers?

there are shift interlock pills but usually they are worn or missing. but im preatty sure that they only prevent you from shifting into front low and rear high and front high and rear low, but that is a good thing.
if i had a cam id post pics
EDIT: oh and the shift pattern is the same as the d300, front is the right stick rear is the left stick.

there are NO interlock pills on the fsj dana 20. Other d20's for 4x4s have them. Slap on the sticks and shift away.

if its a "J" shift d20 no mods needed, just new shifters. if its an inline shift, you need the interlock pills removed.
but remember this will allow you to put one output in high and the other in low. which is not advised. :D
