Hi. New guy, here. I have a 1979 CJ5 with a 401 engine. Runs great, stays cool at driving speeds, gets hot at idle. I want to replace the clutch fan with an electric fan from a Grand Wagoneer that I bought off ebay. Does anyone know the current draw at startup and continuous duty? I have to buy an installation kit, and want to make sure I get the right one. Any other info on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rich.

The Grand Wagoneers never came with an electric fan.... Unless you are talking about the 93+ GW's which were just Grand Cherokees with woodgrain....

Mostly need to find out it's amperage draw...

That will NOT be enough fan to keep that 401 cool. They have a hard enough time keeping the 4.0 cool.

That will NOT be enough fan to keep that 401 cool. They have a hard enough time keeping the 4.0 cool. Why? Not enough volume? It's 19 " in dia., so sizewise it would seem large enough. I'm bummin', now...:(

I would either sport for a new hi-volume fan or get a taurus fan...
