i have a 2100 motorcraft carb in my shop i rebuilt it not too long ago it just needs to be adjusted now. if i replace the 2150 with the 2100 will it cause problems. such as transmission cable problems??? 2100 came off of a 70 ford fairlane with the 390 bigblock engine. also is there a big diffrence in the design of this carb. i can get a rebuild kit for the 2100 for $12 and the 2150 cost 45 to 60 depending on where u go.

ok i found my answer to my own question the only diff is the altitude deflector(i guess). so can i run a 2100 kit on the 2150 and it will still run. anyone tried this??

One of the gaskets may be different. I cant fully remember, and I dont have a 2150 to compair to the 2100 that I have access to. But yeah, only differance is the altitude compensator. If you have to pass smog, you most likely wont pass because the 2100 wont have all the same hookups as the 2150.

IIRC there's not much to rebuild in the altitude compensator. Not all the 2150s have the altitude compensator. The 2150 has a different choke pulloff design and that third smaller "barrel" that has something to do with the choke.
I think the main difference in the price of the rebuild kit is the early 2100 will have a single-stage power valve (ca $4) and the the late 2100 and 2150 will have a 2-stage valve (ca $35). The jets in the 2100 with a 2-stage valve (44s) were really small compared to earlier 2100s so the 2100 may way rich for an engine with EGR.
I don't know for certain, but Stuka's probably right and the 2100 air horn gasket likely won't fit on the 2150.

what about the needle and seat?? are they diff. i still have the power valve and all of the gasket they are good and in one peice.
Is the accumulator arm and gasket are they the same? i cleaned the carb today and kept everything incase i might reuse it.the power valve looks good but don't know for sure. also emission is no concern for this jeep cause it is going to be a trail rig. i figured i would get what i need for the carb out of a 2100 kit cause it is cheaper. if the power valve is bad i guess i could break down and buy one later.
i think i might take the gasket with me for comparision between the 2100 and 2150.

well i did it!! i got the kit and put it in the carb today everything fit fine except the top gasket. it didn't seal the altittude thing in the middle figired i would be fine with a little silicon since it just pulls in air and not fuel???
Anyway i will find out tommorrow and see if it will atleast let the jeep run decent. if not i might be interested in a four barrel intake. but first lets see what this is going to do.

I need the number off a 2100 so I can get a kit with the acc. pump check valve without spending $44.00 for a 2150 kit. You can just post one, or if possible e-mail it to me, I would be forever grateful.

well i got the kit for a 71 ford fairlane with a 390 motor in it. but since i got friends it helps to get parts at auto zone. but give me some time on if this will work. i still need to get it running. i got it running real good when it was reved up but the idle sucked. i think i got vacuum probs. hopefully some one can in form me on the post i put up about the diagram.

Thanks, Michel
Exactly what I needed. When you say $4-6. Do you mean you think I can get just the check valve alone? Thay would be great. I will keep looking for that mustang list. You know what makes me sick? I remember taking a 2 barrel carb off of an '82 mustang I had in HS that was less than two years old when I started hot roddin it up. I wonder if it was a 2100 or 2150? Probably was and I can't lay my hands on it for the world. I found the Aluminum 2V intake, but no carb. Thanks again, BUD
