Some of you remember I just purchased a 1967 J3500 327.

In the back in the bed a PO installed two "CUSTOM MADE" gas tanks and removed the stock one.

The tanks in the bed, suck and caused the only rust on the truck as they are up against the side of the truck.

Anyway... on to the issue. This truck must have sat for quite some time and the tanks rusted on the inside, bad enough to clog a new filter in seconds. I don't like the tanks and they are pretty ugly so I am looking for a solution to get rid of them.

There is only a remnant of the original tank (Its a tee that has been unplugged.

What do I need.. and where do I get it... to at least have a viable tank on this truck?

I need gas/tires/registration.

Help me out.

BJ's sells a replacement polyurathane tank. This might be your easiest/best solution.

Link? I need a different tank, too. The PO for my '65 installed a (nice) custom exhaust, but ended up taking out the under-bed tank and installing a behind-the-seat tank (ugh!). It suffices for the time being, but I want to replace it soon.

thx

The BJ's tank is....okay. If I had known how it would be before I bought it, I would have had my tank acid dipped and sealed.

I have no mounting hardware. How are these mounted?

Does anyone have a picture of a stock mount on a pre 72 jtruck?
