can i only use a hydraulic clutch with a hydraulic clutch bell housing, or is there different types of slave cylinders for different types of bell housings?? the slave cylinder i grabbed from the junkyard doesn't look like it was meant to mate up to the bell housing i have now.....oh yea, this is all chevy 350 stuff i'm talking....
my diesel project is coming along pretty well, i've got the motor and trans out of my jeep, and i'm bolting my 6.2L to my four speed tomorrow and as soon as BJ's gets those conversion mounts to my door, i should have the 6.2L mounted up....so help me with this clutch set up.....
thanks!

Need more info Doug. What year bellhousing are you using? What tranny are you using? I can probably help you a lot in this aspect of things, I just need more info...

hey pete, what's new. well i've got no idea what year the bell housing is. i know it is a GM 350 small block bolt pattern and is orange and aluminum, and the trans is the ford np435. i know you advised against miss matching manufactures, but it was so **** cheap, and i already had the driver's side case to mate to it. i have the clutch disk and pressure plate and all that important stuff already figured out, i just need to know if i can mate the slave cylinder to the bell housing that i have. i'll have to take a photo or two of the bell housing later this afternoon......i'll be back......

After looking at my nv 4500 combo and my sm465 combo i dont think you can mix and match.... but you could give it a try.

so much for me getting pics of my bell housing, but i did some looking around and i think i'm just going to have to find a bell housing that is newer. the one i have is from a car and can't fit the larger clutch disk anyway, so i'm going to find a bell housing from an 87 or newer truck with the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder bracket. thanks anyways.....

I've got the same setup in my CJ, what trans are you running? Is it a 465 or 465? I converted my mechanical linkage bellhousing to a hydraulic one with a little bit of fab work. Check out http://www.novak-adapt.com/ they have everything.
What did you get your slave cylinder off of? a chevy slave cylinder should have the bleader on the top the input on the ouside facing side and the two mounting holes should be offset on a 45*.
if that wasnt the correct cylinder take a look at www.rockauto.com (http://www.rockauto.com) i got the stuff I needed from them and I think the cylinder was under $30.
Depending on which master cylinder you have you might need a custom hose. I had to get mine specially made to adapt the SAE jeep master cylinder to the chevy metric slave cylinder.
I can email you some pictures of my setup if your interested.
