I would like to see some close up pictures of how your roof racks are mounted to the gutters. With the doors being so close to the gutters I can't see how most systems would fasten and stay in place.

The rack on my Jeep is a doubled up Yakima with 3 pairs of gutter mounts. I've had it loaded up with lots of stuff ranging from 5 bikes (not a lot weightwise but lots of torsional stress from turns) to a couch
I have no problems with my doors or the security of the mount. :drivin:

Looks pretty sturdy, and I may save a clip of that pic for future ref.
I must confess based on the topic title that I was about to take exception to the original posting, as there are perhaps more private places that are preferable for such activity than on a roof rack. The mists have cleared, and I realise that I need to be more careful in how I read things....:o ;) :D

Will try to post pics of my Wilderness Off-Road rack. Mine fastens and stays in place but the rear doors hit it. I think I can adjust the door position a tad lower and get it to clear but never bothered yet.
