I finished with the msd 6a install this weekend bypassing the computer on my 4.2 6 cyl. From what Ive read the pulse air is activated by the computer which is still hooked up but just not to the ignition or carb. Will it still work like this or should I just pull the stuff out? I will need to pass a smog test next year-no visual just a sniffer test. My other thought is to rig something up. With the engine running and the hoses and check vavles removed I can feel and hear air being sucked into the cat and exhaust manifold. Is there any reason why I just cant rig up some type of separate air filter and run the pulse air system without the computer and check valves? I would love to eliminate all the extra plumbing especially the tubes running to the air filter on my weber. Am I nuts or could this work?
