The carb on my '74 wag is a Motorcraft 4350(I Think). There is something on there that the manual calls a Sol-Vac Holding Solinoid. The only thing the manual says about it is how to test it. What is it for? and how do I adjust it?

Thanks

Please don’t quote me on this but I think it was a fast idle set-up for the auto tranny and / or the A/C.. I can look for the part tomorrow and find out ..I took it off a long time ago.. CUL… ;) ds.

I think that solenoid has something to do with the rear window motor. Hey, there are stranger things on an FSJ!

If you are referring to the solenoid on the driver's side of the carb... it is used to step up the idle when the AC is turned on...

Thank you RB, that would explain why it was adjusted all the way back. The DSPO removed the A/C pump. Some day I will get it working again. smile.gif
