Turn the hub cap one notch and drill new holes, tap the new holes... Good as new.

You can go to Home Depot and pick up some screws that are just a tad bit larger.

well at least they didnt shear them , which the sears guys did to a couple of mine. try this, drilling 3 new holes and running in self tapping sheetmetal screws. get flat head phillps #8 x 3/8 iirc.

I got tired of ripping the caps off on rocks, but I like to be stylin', so i just drilled straight through the holes and use a long, skiny nut/bolt assm. 9mm I think, and I use a self locking nut. I run the bolt from the outside thru a small washer, the cap, wheel and put the locknut on with a little loctite for extra help. I trim any excess flush with the mounting surface. It works!, and the caps are plenty dented AND still on there. I just reread the post. You guys are talking about alloy wheel caps. I use white factory steels. Maybe I'll leave this in case it helps somebody.

I just drilled new holes...It's too close to the center to really worry about balancing problems~

Dave, that is my plan for my steel wheel w/ caps. I have 3 good ones, and one with a sheared off screw. SO, once I destroy the threads and the shoulder in the cap, I will be drilling straight through. I thought I would find some appropriate bolts and acorn nuts to cap them off.

later,

Daniel
