So I go out to the van this morining and it won't stay running #@!!)!@ - MAF I think. Bummer, there's another 100$ bill.

So I jump into the '79 Wag to drive to wife's work to trade for the '88 Wag she normally drives - as it has air - and the '79 doesn't. She goes home at 12:30 today and I go home at 5:00 - so I need the air more:D
Hadn't driven the '79 for about 4 months.

WOW! What a difference between a new engine with 3:54's ('79) VS one with 150K on engine and 3:31's (the '88).
Gonna have to get another new engine now:rolleyes:

Just might have to repair the air on the'79 and drive it more often!!!:fsj:

I'll bet the gears make more of a difference than the engine. I'm in the same situation with my wag and J10. The wag has 3.31's and the J10 has the 3.54's and it feels much different!

I like the 3:73 gears in my J20, but its 360 kinda/sorta talks to me at 65MPH.
Additionally, turning lots of R's at 65MPH makes it drink the fuel just that much more! :(

Gearing does make a difference, but not compared to a good strong pulling fresh mill:D

Already got a cammed 350 4:10 32 inch 4bb Wag myself. Although the engine isn't fresh. OK, it's kinda worn out. OK, it was built 17 hard years ago. OK, stills runs OK.
But I'll take you up on that when you come down to wheel with Flint et al in November.

I don't think I was invited :P

I'm going to try and get the Glad up to Ouray next year. It's getting a complete makeover on the cheap..Tremors clone, just not that faded blue. Maybe bananna yellow
