hesitation in shifting gears

"Sometimes" my '88GW hesitates to shift into a higher gear, especially from 1st to 2nd.
This usually smooths out after driving a while.
I believe it's a 727 torqueflight tranny?
Does this sound like torque converter problems?

Try doing a tranny fluid change and while u r at it do a tranny flush. I had the same problem with my '89 and that fixed it. Although now my main shaft seal is leaking like a sive.

Make sure to change the filter when you change the fluid. Check the modulator linkage at the carb. Ensure there is a good return spring that holds the modulator linkage tight to the carb linkage.
