First off,, from what I understand about bump stop, it is caused by the drag link being angled to much. Ive got a 4" rusty's, so I dont think that is an issue. What I have is when going down the road,at times, my steering just feels like the ignition is locked and the steering wont move. Then after jerking it, it's ok. It also has troble turning 31" tires when sitting still. My pump whines alot and it's full of fluid. Im guessing maybe the pump is just shot. Im putting my 35's on Friday. Does anyone have any trouble turning 35's with the stock pump?

sounds like the vain or pressure valve in the pump is shot best and cheapest to replace the pump

I have a a stock pump and 35's and I have no troubles with mine at all. Might want to take a good look at the pump.

Mine does that too although not too bad. Mostly when I take off from a stop turning right. Almost feels like the hub is locked. Gonna' do a high steering mod this week and check out all the joints and bearings but I think it's just a stock pump going bad.

ive got 38s and a brand new pump and a rebuilt box and my steering still sucks. on high traction surfaces(pavement, hard pack dirt) i can turn the wheels lock to lock with the hubs unlocked, tho it does take extra effort. with both hubs locked and in 4wd it is next to impossible smile.gif lincoln locker makes steering on high traction surface very difficult ;)

i agree, you prolly need a new pump. you should be able to turn 31s without much effort. as you start to get bigger than 33s,specially if you add tight limited slips or lockers, crappy steering is part of dues you pay to be in the big tire club smile.gif

eventually ill prolly be makig a ram for mine.

At a stop, I have no problems with turning the wheel lock to lock, and I have 31's on... The monster was the same with the 38's.. could turn lock to lock with one finger at a stop on pavement... not sure why...
