I am in the process of upgrading rear shocks. The rear suspension is sagging so bad that the rear driveshaft is hitting block. Has anyone tried these shocks? Did it help sag? How is the ride? Any info would be great.

... I used the Monroe magnum gas-matics. They have been changed since I bought mine because they were breaking the shock mounts on chevy trucks. Anyhow these shocks had a lot of gas pressure and lifted my Wagoneer about a ½ inch and were a bit stiff but I did and still do like them.
... I bought a pair of Rancho 5000s for the back end of my ’81 Wagoneer and couldn’t tell ANY difference from the old wore-out factory original shocks. That was sad.

... A strong spring rate in the front (2”AAL) can help prevent rollovers in off camber conditions and avoid excessive body roll-over tendencies when you make a high speed avoidance maneuver or sharp turn if the front sway bar is strong and still connected.
... When used with a light spring rate (stock with 2” blocks) in the rear, and no rear sway-bar but plain very HD rear shocks, can still have a very nice amount of flexing and yet great high speed control. I don't 'air-down'(much) and never disconnect the sway-bar. This concept is cheap and works well on my 2" lifted Wagoneer.

Good Luck and CUL ;) … ds..

I went with the Load Leveling Shocks and I increased lift by 2.5" and ride improved a lot. I'm hoping that they will live up to their name....."LOAD LEVELING" when I have my camper loaded up. Thanks for the input Don.... Later

If the rear is sagging that bad...y0u might try what I did...I wanted to install an add a leaf...but all here rightly warned me off getting the ProComp 28" add a leaf...Instead, I bought a set of chevy 2.5" full length springs, cut them to fit between the # 2 /#3 leaves and installed four new leaf straps on each set(two in front of the u-bolt and two behing) Then I installed a set of Rancho 9000's and voila! C'est Magnifique! (sorry for using zee stupid Frog lingo)...Regards

My jeep had these on the back when I got it, and it was unbarably stiff with no weight in the back.
