Double Ouch.LD is hard and tight for a full size rig!! You DA MaN IF we ride a full size ride down there this fall i will do some of the hard trails but LD is all yours.(ouch!!) your going to scare everybody off(just kidding) Harlan has trails for every skill in your case point proven. The rock gardens are cool for rigs that are just lifted and only running one locker.

hey steve did you try cream puff?
great vids keep it up.

Hit the fan a little bit.

I will get detailed photos tonight if it doesn't rain. Sheetmetal and windshield are fubar.:fsj:

I went through can opener up untill the squeeze. There was just no way at all. Once we got out of LD, I went back to camp because of a bent front leaf spring. Didn't hit anything else.

There was a buggy that did 2 endos and 5-6 barrel rolls on cream puff sat. He messed up some ribs, bruises and a headache. Rig is seriously F'd up.

Reminds me of the time, years ago, a guide at Paragon got us on the wrong trail and it took 17 of us about 6 hours to go 200'. Nicely done though!

We had a great time. When Steve took the Wag though Lion's Den I was thinking that probably was a bad idea. I was impressed with how it made it though. The sheet metal damage was expected but going through there with a full-size on 36s the way he did was pretty cool.

Here's the "squeeze" on Can Opener:

Here's the CJ buggy that rolled on Cream Puff:

For those who haven't seen Cream Puff in person, it gets almost completely vertical near the end.

Steve, excellent job on LD, you are definitely da MAN! I rode Harlan on the 5th & bent the front driveshaft on Fossil.

Steve,
Thats awesome! Something to look forward to. Is there a bypass on the squeeze or did you have to turn around?

Steve, looks painful but badass brother. I wish I could have made it. You wouldn't have been the only fullsize there. You plan on going back anytime soon or is it too small for your rig?

I think it looked pretty weak. Lots of tire spinning, backing up, etc. If you made it through without any problems at all, that'd be a different story. ;)

Looks like the full hydro paid for itself.

For the most part. I have gotten real good at the back up and turn. Takes some of the strain off. They are still lacking in power. I think I have either a flow issue through the orbital or the pump isn't pushing enough pressure.

The whole setup is from PSC. I just need to call them.

On the far side of the rock to the left (in the above pic) you can exit to the main trail, but it is narrow that way too - just doesn't have the massive boulders to contend with :D If you're feeling lucky you can take the high line at the squeeze, and go to the right of the large rock (as viewed in the pic) - it is very off camber and puts the pass side of a rig's body against the big rock though. Can Opener is a part of the Upper Rock Garden. Lion's Den is one of hardest trails at Harlan.

I took the trail out to the left(oriented to the pic). I looked at the high side and thought about it. It would have been a prettt rough turn coming back down.

4.10's. It used to be worse. I found the band adjustments. The tranny holds MUCH better now. Still not great but better. 36's and 4.10's aren't quite the right match.

Thanks:thumbsup:

Most everythin had a bypass or a way around to come out on the other side to be able to watch.

My fsj will be working by september we should get a ride together for harlan or livingston KY both are worth it livingston has more slick rock and shear walls with less breakage and body damage. harlan can get tight for fsj's. we have some livingston pics @ Ky mountian crawlers then to hazard chapter trail rides then go down to ether one of the last livingston rides they are pretty cool.

Oh. Very cool. Small world. They told me at the beginning of LD that I couldn't take a "full bodied" full width vehicle through there. They being the guys in the red yotas. It made me mad and I said D@#$T, I came here to wheel not to watch and decided that I was going through there no matter what! Man was it fun!

Here's a couple that a friend of mine made (I shot some of the footage):

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4206302804937636793

You probably have already seen this one, made by KOZ Offroad from Michigan. I've run into them a couple times at Harlan, pretty cool folks.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7825618363944440354

Here's a long one that George (white FJ80 on portals) made Sat. The footage of Creme Puff doesn't do justice to how steep it really is.

Btw, Fossil is my personal favorite - even took my TJ thru it. :D
