I am about to head off to college and unfortunately i have decided to store the wag in the garage, since it will be in there for a while without being run often( maybe once a month or so if that) what should i do to properly store my baby....thanks

My '74 owner's manual says that if you are going to store your vehicle for a length of time longer than a month, you need to change the oil, then pour up to one pint of 10W or lighter engine oil into the carburetor with the engine running. Pour slowly, then faster until the last quick pour stalls the engine. Then drain the radiator, block, and heater.

For up to 30 days, it says to run the engine at fast idle for 15 minutes to assure oiling of parts, then turn it off.

You should probably double check, yours is an '87.

I'd change the eng oil and any gear box fluids that aren't fairly fresh. Old dirty oil is acidic and eats bearings. My rigs sit for months due having too many and never being home but for long term storage I would dump some oil in the spark plug holes too. Also cover the intake on the air cleaner and put a soup can over the exhaust pipe. These things run terrible with a mouse house in the air cleaner or muffler. Pisses the mice off too when ya first light it up. smile.gif
