It looks like my 91 G Wag has a GM type steering column is this true? What are my options for aftermarket or earlier model steering wheels. Will I need to use GM adapters?

It is a GM column. No adapters are needed for any aftermarket or GM style wheel. ;)

Crazy Jeepman, are all FSJ columns GM?? if so, what GM model shares its column with the FSJ?

Actually no GM model shares a column with the FSJ, but they will fit as well as the components. Saginaw was the supplier for the GM and Jeep columns. Any parts needed will be interchangeable between GM and Jeep in the same year group. A GM truck tilt will bolt in a FSJ however you will not have the P R N D L indicator. ;)
