I have contacted Ehsankiani on the Pirate4x4.com forum about making fender flares, he says that it would have to be 10 sets minimum, if you dont know who he is, just search for his name on pirate (use google if you dont have a star) His crew does amazing work, any interest? I have asked him for pics....
EDIT, CHANGED TITLE, AND AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE, ILL ASK ABOUT THE +2 inch flair

He is on this site as well, and yes he does great things with steel.

I'm thinking I 'might' be interested, this depends on cost??? And if he can provide a sample of what his handiwork would be as far as the flare goes..

They do awesome work on sheetmetal. I don't need any flares myself, but I wouldn't hesitate to order a set from them if the price was right.

You might think about changing the title of the thread to eliminate the "j-truck". Cherokee's also had fender flares... and even a few waggies (Scott :D).
I am just saying that you might be limiting the pool of buyers having "j-truck" in the thread title.

I could use a set. Did He ever say if he was going to produce any wider widths. Like the 2" wider?

I edited the thread, and once again, will let people know about the progress, remeber this is going to take time,
also sent an e-mail about 2 plus wide fronts, are the rear fenders the same??

I'd buy a set if they bolt on. I don't want to mess up my pretty paint job!

I am pretty sure they wouldn't bolt on. Plastic flares are made to bolt on but steel flares should be welded on IMHO.

I wonder where you could find the original stamp dies for the flares? If you had those, mass production would be simple...

Have you thought about the early bronco flares. The profile is similar to FSJ. I have a set that will one day go on, but for now they just collect dust in my garage. They are polyurethane IIRC. I bought them 10 years ago and they are still plyable, I move them around in the garage from time to time.

I had heard there was an ABS version built for a few years, any thruth to that? Does anyone still make them in ABS?

There is no truth to that. Bushwacker flares can be modified and if you search in probably the offroad section you can find some pics.

Holy old thread. Since this thread was first run, we have made fiberglass rear flares, fiberglass front flares, fiberglass front fenders, fiberglass fan shrouds, and are working on the front valance and rear quarters...

I'm aware of the fiberglass versions available today - but, and I know my memory is fading - but felt sure there were ABS versions available aftermarket in the 80's

Yes, the front fenders are wide trac fenders and have the flare.

Actually, I'm talking about a flare or bulge in the fender that you normally see on prerunner type trucks. I looked on your site and didn't see that.
