Has anyone ran across info on converting a full floating D60 w/8 lug to a 6 lug? I see D60 in the magazines all the time with 5 and 6 lug but cant find info. All the axle companies want to sell you their axle and dont give any info

check out this thread:

its on converting a 14 bolt hub to 6 lugs, but you could prolly go a d60 hub the same way. im leaning towards doing this to my 14 bolt so i dont have t buy any new 15" 8 lug wheels

also older j trucks sometimes had a semifloating 5 lug d60. you could prolly drilla 6 lug pattern into that flange.

hmmmm.i just now clicked on it and it took me there...

anyway, the thread was called "hey river beast!(or anyone else wanting FF but not 8 lugs) "

in order to find it again,i did a serch for "6 lug 14 bolt" and it popped up.

in a nutshell, you need to mill alittle off of the 60 hub and axleshaft flange,so theyll fit thru the smaller hole on a 6 lug wheel. you can then drill the 60 hub for 6 lugs, and attach a 1/2 ton,6 lug front rotor to the rear of it. now just make up a caliper bracket and put it all together. youll prolly need to use allen head bolts, which have smaller heads,so they dont hang over the flange.

hopefully you can get to one or the other...

if not i can try to answer more specific questions.
