I got a new 20 gal RCI with all the extras for half that on the Bay. They are super nice cells.

The only problem with RCI cells are that not all of them have baffles. Mine is a circle track tank and I learned that if you put EFI in yours that you have to put another bulkhead fitting as a return line. The 2 that are already there are for the gas and for the rollover. The return line has to be installed for it to work properly.

On ebay for that metal tank they cost more once you add in shipping.

What about plastic tanks? This one has foam and the fittings are on the bottom, plus it's cheaper.

Foam deteriorates over time, so if you plan on running the cell with foam for a long time, it'll clog your fuel filter. You get what you pay for.

True. We have to replace the foam in the cell in our desert racer about every 2 years.

You don't need baffles if it is a foam filled cell. The foam keeps the fuel from sloshing.

Well I think I'm going to get the metal rci cell. Seems like the tank would have to be real low for the fuel pump to not be able to suck up any gas at an extreme angle.

The better the gas you use, the longer that foam lasts. Race gas works best, while pump gas ( it must be the additives) can eat it up pretty quickly.

Man, I guess those 20 years wasted drag racing may have been some good after all...

BTW: If anyone needs a GOOD electric fuel pump for carbs, I think the Holley "Blue" pump rocks. Sure, you need a regulator, but that is not a big deal.

i have had my fuel cell mounted in my j10 for the last 3 years now and i have never had a problem with the foam.
